Committee Reports

President's Report

  • 2025 has been a fantastic year for the club, and I've really enjoyed my time throughout the year.
  • At this point, I've been on committee for four years, and stuff has really started to blend together so it's hard to know what I did just in the past year.
  • Instead, I'd like to thank everyone I've been on committee with over the past four years, every ucc member I've met along the way, every one I worked with in subcoms throughout. I've done so much I never would have done without being on committee, and for the new committee, you really get a lot for what you put in. Meeting so many amazing people and doing so many great things has certainly changed the course of my life. I hope the new committee gets the same or greater experience from this club.
  • Once again, thank you to all of my fellow committee members over the years, it has been fantastic.
  • And I'm extremely hopeful for 2026 and the new committee, I think you guys will do great things.

Vice President's Report

  • It was an amazing year last year and we did so many fun and cool things!! I can't wait to see what we get up to in 2026.
  • The main events I helped with were:
    • UniLANs
    • Joint Camp
    • UnCharity Vigil
    • Python Study Night
    • OWeek/ Week one new students events :)
    • Lecture bashing!!!
    • A lot more i probably forgto tbh.
  • I also finally figured out how EMPs work and submitted approximateltly one billion EMPs, room bookings, and emails.
  • UCC rebrand
  • UCC is my life, my one true love, my meaning for living, etc, I love all you guys for making this club possible!!!!!!

Secretary's Report

  • Hey everyone! I've had a great experience being on committee over the last year, and it's been very rewarding working with everyone! Thank you to the members and the outgoing committee for the support and making the club space so welcoming, I truly appreciate it :)
  • Some of the things I've done this year include having:
    • Written and edited what feels like so many minutes
      • I've attempted over the last year to make the minutes a little more consistently formatted for accessibility, so hopefully that's something that's something that's helped at least someone along the way!
    • Organised committee meeting times
    • Updated the TLA register a few times
    • Worked on a few posters for events
    • Submitted a few EMPs
    • Helped organise the Python Study Night in Semester 1 with [KKZ]
    • Announced and kept things up-to-date for the OGM that happened in September 2025
    • Helped to organise and run the 2025 Joint Camp on the subcommittee, as the Camp Leader for UCC
      • Also acted as Secretary on the subcommittee and minuted all the meetings
      • The event ran very well, and suggestions for the subcommittee running 2026 Joint Camp have been recorded to make the event even better in future!
      • Big thank you to the subcommittee and other committee members who were involved!
    • Kept the Discord Events tab up-to-date over the year
    • Helped out at the two UniLANs
    • Helped with running the O-Day, Club Carnival and EMS Expo stalls
    • Updated the 2025 Fresher Guide for this year
    • Generally attended a bunch of UCC events
  • Thanks again to the outgoing committee; it's been really fun. I hope only the best for those on committee who are graduating or not running again, and I look forward to getting to know some of the new faces around the club this year!

Treasurer's Report

  • Link to Financial Report
    • $60317.27 in assets as of 2025-12-31 ($55231.60 as of 2024-12-31)
    • $17646.55 in 2025 revenue ($25124.94 in 2024)
    • $12666.03 in 2025 expenses ($28010.05 in 2024)
  • Hello everyone, and my deepest apologies that I could not make it to the AGM today. Unfortunately, postgrad students have no rights I guess so I can't come even during Common Lunch :(
  • In short, UCC's Finances are in a strong spot.
  • We retained ~$5k in profit this year thanks in part to healthy dispense sales and us recieving our camp money from the 2024 Camp at the start of 2025.
  • I PROMISE THAT WE RECIEVED 67 CENTS IN DONATIONS. I AM NOT MAKING THAT UP.
  • Our grant money was down this year, as with most other clubs. However we were quite lucky in receiving a $1700 SSAF Grant to run our 2025 Camp.
    • We also recieved grant money to purchase a Mac Mini that we now have in the Clubroom for all to enjoy.
  • A few recommendations to the next Treasurer/Committee:
    • Please please please do not be afraid to spend money on things the club needs. While it may seem scary to spend large amounts of our capital - especially since probably it will feel like a lot of money to spend as a student - but that is why we are here. UCC is here to be a provider of resources that otherwise would be out of reach to the average student.
    • To whoever's tinkering portal.ucc.asn.au next, please add a feature so that the treasurer can easily figure out how much membership fees UCC recieved in a given year, we already track that information so surely it'd be something that we can track easily.
    • To the next Treasurer: it may seem like a daunting task to be in charge of ~$60k in capital, and I'm not going to lie to you, it is. However, as long as you do your weekly tasks and actually count the money in the safe like every month instead of every blue moon like I have, you will find that the job is a lot easier than it seems. Previous treasurers make it seem hard just for their job security :P
    • Start the Commbank move over from scratch - It'll be much easier to do from scratch.
    • Investing our money is going to be a headache - I am happy to help set something up.
    • Finally, to whoever's running for committee: I want you to have a think about UCC's vision. That is to say, think about the why before tackling the what. Ask "why does UCC exist?" before "what should UCC do?". Once you and the rest of Committee can answer that question you will find success.
  • Thank you again to 2025 Committee, its been a blast.

Fresher Rep's Report

  • Hello, UCC! The year really flew by to be honest, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent on committee last year (and a bit of this year).
  • I kind of went into this thing with not much experience or knowledge on what I was going to do but I knew that my main goal that I wanted to achieve was outreach and making the club more open to newer members.
  • Here's a few important things I've done in the past year:
    • I've put a lot of focus on advertising and bringing back the social media as a way of communicating with our members especially on our Instagram and Discord
      • And I've also focused on refining the branding a bit more to make everything look a little more cohesive to go along with this.
    • I tried my best to get to know all the members of this club both past and present from attending as many social events as I could throughout the year especially the weekly project nights, and I hope to meet and get to know many future members.
    • Attending and helping run/plan events like O-Day, the Club Carnival, Python Study Night, and Uncharity has also been a valuable learning experience for me as well as an amazing way of getting to know our members.
  • And to whoever is running for fresher rep - just remember that you have a unique perspective going into the committee. Of course there will be many things for you to learn when you join, but don't let that deter you from having your say.
  • I hope whoever takes this role next though has fun and gets a lot of reward out of it, because it is a rewarding thing to have a say in the future of this club. Thank you everyone, good luck for 2026.

OCM Reports

[SEB]

  • TBH I wrote this 15 mins before the AGM, which is 16 minutes before I thought I would be.
  • I don't remember what I did this year but I'm sure I did something. At the very least, I did finally respond to UWA Data Institute about sponsorship, which did take over a year and multiple committees to do.
  • Made sure UCC got a bunch of new hardware in the server room, and acquired an (albeit short lived) GPU for the coffinfish from e-sports
  • To the new OCMS, er, try not to follow my lead.
